Paul Sawyier: Portrait of Kentucky’s Waterways
Paul Sawyier is not just our library’s namesake! Join Sawyier expert Bill Coffey on Monday evening, July 26th, as he presents a program on Kentucky’s most renowned impressionistic painter. Well known for his depictions of the Frankfort area, some of Sawyier’s most famous images were those of the Kentucky River and Elkhorn Creek. Learn more about the artist and the inspiration he took from Kentucky’s waterways. This free event will take place at 6:30 pm in the Library Community Room. Join the Paul Sawyier Public Library as we kick off the third annual Gathering of Authors with a night of music by Daniel Martin Moore. This free event will take place on Friday, August 20th @ 6:30 p.m. (the night before the Gathering) in the Library Community Room. Moore is a musician and songwriter from Cold Spring, Kentucky. His first album, STRAY AGE, was released by Sub Pop Records in 2008. His second record, DEAR COMPANION, is a collaboration with cellist, singer and songwriter Ben Sollee and was produced by Yim Yames (of the band My Morning Jacket).
