Celebrate Frankfort Heritage Week with PSPL! Join us for an afternoon of presentations on the history and conservation of Elkhorn Creek in Franklin County.
Sessions include:
Enda Lechauhánne: Legend of the Forks of Elkhorn, by Nettie Henry Glenn (1961) – excerpt read by John Carlton, local historian, preservationist, and organizer of Frankfort Heritage Week
The History of a Kentucky Landscape – presented by Dr. Richard Taylor, author of Elkhorn: Evolution of a Kentucky Landscape (2018)
Stream Conservation and the Elkhorn Creek – presented by Samantha Vogeler, supervisor of the Water Quality Certification Section with the Kentucky Division of Water of the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection
Conservation as a Tool for Our Past, Present, and Future – presented by Jessie Wilder Hancock, Executive Director of Bluegrass Land Conservancy
A 10-15 minute intermission will take place between the second and third presentations. There will be no Q&A session during this event.
