Celebrate Juneteenth with PSPL! Join Dr. Alicestyne Turley as she discusses the role of black Kentuckians in the war of emancipation and freedom that changed the social direction of American society.

Dr. Turley is the Director of the Freedom Stories Project for the International Storytelling Center in Jonesborough, Tennessee. She was the founding Director of the Carter G. Woodson Center for Interracial Education at Berea College, and the founding Director of the Underground Railroad Research Institute at Georgetown College. She is also the author of The Gospel of Freedom: Black Evangelicals and the Underground Railroad, the recipient of the 2022 Thomas D. Clark Medallion.
