Earl Van Dorn’s military career is overshadowed by one thing -- the circumstances of his death. Join historian Phillip Seyfrit to learn about one of the Confederacy’s more flamboyant personalities.

Phillip Seyfrit is the curator of the Battle of Richmond Visitors Center and the superintendent of the Battle of Richmond (KY) park and other related properties. He has held this position for 17 years. Seyfrit is a graduate of EKU’s Model Laboratory School, Eastern Kentucky University, and the Mid-America College of Funeral Service. He also serves as president of the Madison County Civil War Roundtable and the Central Kentucky World War II Roundtable, both of which meet in Richmond.
