Event Details

With the winter holidays upon us, do you know what to get for the tabletop gamer in your life? Join us for a Tabletop Gamers Holiday Swap Meet! Buy or trade miniatures - and other tabletop games and gaming accessories - at this event.

Bring your unwanted minis, dice, or roleplaying game books to the Swap Meet and take home new-to-you fantasy goods that others have brought. Drop in anytime during the swap to trade 'em out! In addition to game trading, we are proud to welcome a number of local vendors selling their wares and local experts presenting information about different facets of gaming and gaming culture.

No registration necessary.

Presentation Schedule:

12:30pm
Gamemastering Tips And Tricks To Spice Up Any Roleplaying Game - Presented by Jesse Larson

A collection of quick and easy techniques developed by expert GMs to streamline prep, increase player engagement, foolproof your mystery plots, and generally make games more fun and easy to run! Applicable to any roleplaying game. And, everyone who joins gets a free mini RPG from my extensive (yet tiny) mini RPG library!

1:00pm
How to Utilize Character Backstory as a Player or Game Master - Presented by Ashtin Birkicht

Character creation can sometimes be a hassle. Whether it's just a few short paragraphs, or pages of information, having a backstory for your character enhances the game play. You can either use your backstory to help fill out your character sheet, or use your character sheet to help fill in your backstory. Once the backstory is filled, its hard to see that work not get utilized. As a Game Master, instead of shying away from those pages of text your players send, wrapping them into the plot, or subplots, help your players feel as if they're a part of the story.

1:30pm
Developing a Character Race in D&D 5e - Presented by Mark Burton

Learn about the mechanics of race creation while avoiding pitfalls of integrating too much culture in the game rules, then place the new race in your setting.

2:00pm
Ten Things I Learned from Owning Moonlite Comics - Presented by Jay Kirkman

Kirkman shares some experiences from owning Frankfort's Moonlite Comics.

2:30pm
Session Zero: Preparing to Play a TTRPG - Presented by Donnie Poole

Discussion of preparing to play a roleplaying game. Lines and veils, prep-work for materials, choosing players, discussing preferences in play, etc.
