Join us for an in-person discussion of the 2009 animated film The Secret of Kells.

The Secret of Kells is a fantasy film about the theoretical creation of the Book of Kells, a 9th century illuminated manuscript. It follows Brendan, a young boy living in a cloistered abbey with his uncle and several monks and villagers. Brendan becomes fascinated with the art of illuminated manuscripts, apprenticing with another monk. However, concerns about Viking raiders and the loss of valuable materials from the forest introduce conflict and drama, forcing Brendan to fight for his life on multiple occasions.
