Solar eclipse glasses will be available at the Check Out Desk starting Monday, April 1. Glasses are first come, first served, and limited to one per household member (while supplies last).

Sun, Moon & Shadow: The 2024 Total Solar Eclipse

One of the most amazing sights ever witnessed by human eyes is coming soon. In fact, it will be your last chance to see a total solar eclipse in the United States until 2045 - are you ready? Join NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador Dan Price to prepare for the April 8th eclipse! He will discuss solar safety, what solar eclipses are, and how and why they happen. Learn about current and historic solar science, and why eclipses make us all special.

Dan Price is a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, informal educator, and newspaper columnist. His weekly “Bluegrass Skies” articles have appeared in the State Journal for more than three years. A lifelong amateur astronomer and student of science originally from Buffalo, New York, Dan has been conducting astronomy outreach programs in Minnesota and Kentucky for over a decade. Price's passion for public education stems from the belief that a better understanding of the way the world works is a cornerstone of compassion and community.

Under the Stars Solar Eclipse Day at the KSU Farm

Monday, April 8, from 1:30pm-4:30pm
Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm

Join us at Kentucky State University's Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm for a special day centered around the solar eclipse! Solar eclipse glasses will be available for attendees while supplies last.

Sponsored by the 4-H Youth Development, Environmental Education and Research Center, and PSPL. 

This event will be held at the Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm, 1525 Mills Ln, Frankfort, KY 40601.
