Special Collections

Interested in using PSPL’s Special Collections? Patrons are welcome to browse or to make an appointment for assisted research.

Please be aware, when in the Special Collections Room:
  • No food, candy (including chewing gum), or drink is allowed.
  • All materials must stay in the room.
  • Care must be taken with all materials. Materials should not be written on, erased, leaned on, folded, traced, or handled in any way likely to cause damage.
  • The room will remain locked. If you leave the room and need to regain entry, return to the Youth Services Desk to get assistance.
  • Scanning service for materials is not provided. You may take photos with a camera or personal phone.
  • The Special Collections Room is equipped with video surveillance.

If you’re just interested in browsing our Special Collections, go to the Youth Services Desk on the second floor. The Youth Services staff will check you in.

If you’re interested in a guided research session, please fill out the form to make an appointment. Appointments are dependent on staff availability, during the following hours: Monday – Thursday, 10 am – 4 pm. When your appointment is confirmed, you’ll check in at the Youth Services Desk at the appointed time.

When finished with your session, leave all materials on the table and make sure to shut the door to the room. Be sure to stop in at the Youth Services Desk to give notice that you are leaving.
